Terms of Service

Welcome to TheQuoridor.com, an online home for the Quoridor community ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use TheQuoridor.com.

1. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and choose a username that follows our community standards. Usernames that impersonate others, use slurs, or are reserved system names will be rejected or reclaimed.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens through your account.
One account per person. Creating duplicate accounts to evade bans, manipulate ratings, or abuse new-player rewards is prohibited.
You must be at least 13 years old to register. If you're under the age of majority in your country, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Playing fairly

Don't use external engines, bots, or third-party assistance during human-vs-human games. Analysis tools are only for reviewing games after they finish.
Don't sandbag, throw games, or coordinate with other accounts to inflate or deflate ratings on the leaderboard.
Don't abuse the abort, resign, or disconnect features to manipulate streaks or matchmaking.
Custom games and the level designer must not be used to distribute illegal, harmful, or misleading content.

3. Coins, subscriptions, and purchases

Coins are an in-game virtual currency with no cash value. You can buy them in the app. They cannot be redeemed, transferred between accounts, or sold.
The No Ads subscription — described on the pricing page — renews automatically on a monthly or yearly cycle until you cancel it from your account. You can cancel at any time and you will keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you also agree to Stripe's terms. We don't see or store your full card number.
Refund requests are handled case-by-case. Coins or subscription time that you've already used are generally not refundable.

If a payment is refunded, what it paid for ends. A fully refunded subscription payment ends that subscription and its benefits straight away. A refunded coin purchase removes those coins; if you have already spent them, items you bought with coins after that purchase are removed, most recent first, until the refunded amount is covered. Items bought before it, items we granted you, and plan-included items are never removed. We notify you in the app with a list of anything removed.
Chargebacks work the same way. If you dispute a payment with your bank, what it paid for is suspended while the dispute is open. If the dispute is resolved in our favour, everything is restored exactly as it was; if not, the removal is final.

4. Leaderboards and ratings

Your username, country, ratings, number of games played and leaderboard scores are displayed publicly on the leaderboards and on player profile pages. If you turn on "Hide stats from non-friends", your profile shows your ratings, puzzle count and level only to you and your friends; the leaderboards still show your rating and scores. We may remove, recompute, or hide ratings if we detect cheating, collusion, or other rating manipulation.

5. Chat, messages, and moderation

Be respectful in chat, friend messages, and any other player-to-player communication. Harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing, sexual content involving minors, and spam are not allowed.
Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Our moderators may review reported conversations to investigate Code of Conduct violations. See our Privacy Policy for details.
We may warn, mute, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the positions you build in the designer, your profile content, and the messages you write. By posting them on TheQuoridor.com you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host and display them as needed to operate the Service. You can remove content you posted (or delete your account) at any time.

7. Closing or deleting your account

You can request account deletion from your profile settings. We'll remove your personal information and anonymize your gameplay history within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep records (for example, payment records or evidence of moderation actions). We may also suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Service "as is"

TheQuoridor.com is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep it running, but we don't guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that ratings, games, or coins will always be preserved. To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms as the game evolves. If we make material changes, we'll let you know in-app or by email. Your continued use of TheQuoridor.com after the changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
